According to MacRumors, Apple's former director of machine learning, Ian Goodfellow, has returned to Google; he has taken a job at DeepMind.

The publication explained that Goodfellow will probably work on the project team to develop a new multimodal multitasking artificial intelligence system called Gato.

In late April, Goodfellow resigned as Apple's director of machine learning because of the company's aggressive policy to return to the office.
