Apple has announced that the iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura operating systems will be available for installation on October 24, 2022.

The announced iPads, which go on sale October 26, will already run on iPadOS 16.

Apple's Web site has announced that macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16 will be available for download starting Monday, October 24. Notably, iPadOS will immediately be released as number 16.1, to sync the release version with the iOS number.

Both systems get a new multitasking mode Stage Manager, which allows faster switching between active windows, applications and groups of applications.
