Apple patented a smart watch with a built-in camera
Apple is considering installing a hidden camera in the Apple Watch smart watch. The company has received a patent for the invention, according to the documentation of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
According to the documents, the camera in the watch is placed right in the wheel Digital Crown - users will be able to take pictures without removing the device from their wrist. In order to take a photo of the desired object, it will be enough to stretch out your hand.
At the same time in the patent documentation is published only the location of the camera. There is no other information about its specifications, but it is described the possibility of removing the watch from your wrist for more free photo shoots.
Experts interviewed by Apple Insider pointed out that there are a number of difficulties associated with the installation of the camera in the Apple Watch. Among them is installing the lens in the Digital Crown wheel, which itself is a rather complicated element.
One of the inventors of the new patent is Tyler Bushnell, who also authored a previous patent application to upgrade the crown in the watch. Back then, he suggested using a touch analog instead of the mechanical Digital Crown - it would free up more space to accommodate the camera.
In May, Apple patented a virtual paper for VR and AR. It can be bent, folded, flipped, and crumpled - the displayed content will look with all deformations taken into account.
