At the 2025 International Youth Day Summit held at the Blue Roof, Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of value-driven living as a vital element for developing a just and equitable society. According to Leadership Newspapers, he highlighted this necessity, stressing that for youths to take up their leadership positions, they must avoid procrastination, value time, and dwell on positivity.

Lagos State is committed to prioritizing youth development, recognizing youths as invaluable assets to society. Sanwo-Olu assured continued efforts to provide resources and opportunities, encouraging young individuals to succeed across various life fields. This commitment was showcased at the summit with the presentation of grants to winners of the Amplifier Business Clinic and an 18-seater bus to the National Youth Council of Nigeria’s Lagos State Chapter.

The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, echoed the governor’s sentiments by referring to the youths as the nation’s heartbeat and strength. Emphasizing this year’s International Youth Day theme, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” he declared the essential need for collective efforts to realize the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The event was further enriched by a keynote address from Fela Durotoye, President of the Gemstone Leadership Initiative.
