Epic Games has announced a new version of its proprietary Unreal Engine 5.2, which has received a number of improvements.

Unreal Engine 5.2 offers the first look at procedural content generation (PCG) technology, which can be used directly within the Unreal Engine without relying on external packages.

This release also introduces Substrate, a new way to create materials that gives you more control over the appearance of objects used in games and other applications. When Substrate is enabled, it replaces a fixed set of shading models with a more expressive and modular structure.
