Arch Linux is migrating its package development infrastructure from Subversion version control to Git and GitLab.

The developers of the Arch Linux distribution explained that the main work on the migration of the development infrastructure will be carried out from May 19 to 21. During this time, it is planned to suspend the publication of package updates in repositories and access to primary mirrors through rsync and HTTP will be limited.

After the migration is complete, access to Arch Linux SVN repositories will be closed, and the svn2git-based mirror will stop receiving updates.
