Back at Google at Sundar Pichai's request, co-founder Sergey Brin recently sent in his first request for access to Google code in years

Now, according to insiders, Brin is looking into LaMDA, Google's chatbot that was introduced back in 2021. The CL request was sent to gain access to the data used to train LaMDA. The request was approved by several dozen Google engineers, with those not officially part of the LaMDA team as well.

The reactions of Google employees to Brin's activity varied: some sent memes of old men fighting in an internal forum, some wrote "Fix Google first" in response to the code request, and some lamented the distance between founders and staff.
