Google has released One VPN apps for Mac and Windows. Just like on mobile devices, it encrypts and otherwise masks Internet traffic.

You can use it to protect yourself from hackers when connecting to unprotected networks and hide your IP address.

The service is available to those who pay Google One Premium for 2TB for $9.99 a month. The subscription can be shared with up to five other people. Desktop support is available in all 22 countries where the service is available, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the U.K. and most of Europe.
