Linus Torvalds introduced the first stable release of the Linux 6.2 kernel. The release of the new Linux kernel is on schedule, two months after the previous stable release of Linux 6.1 in mid-December last year.

The Linux 6.2 source code is already available for download at kernel.org. Linux 6.2 kernel release commit on GitHub and on Makefile by Linus Torvalds.

According to OpenNET, Linux 6.2 has 16,843 patches from 2,178 developers. The patch size is 62 MB. Changes affected 14,108 files, with 730,195 lines of code added and 409,485 lines of code removed.
