Microsoft has laid off about a thousand employees.

The layoffs affected almost all departments of the company, including Xbox and government programs.

Microsoft has become another major technology company that has begun laying off staff to streamline its business amid a general economic downturn. Before that, Apple, Snap, Netflix, Intel and Oracle laid off employees.
