Linux Mint 21 images based on MATE 1.26, Cinnamon 5.4 and Xfce 4.16 are already available for users to download, and only for 64-bit systems. No new builds of Linux Mint for 32-bit systems are being built.

Linux Mint 21 "Vanessa" is a long term support (LTS) release. Developers promise that updates to this version of Linux Mint will be released until 2027. For Linux Mint 20, the process will run until April 2025. Until 2024, future versions of Linux Mint will use the same package base as Linux Mint 21. The development team will not start working on a new base until 2024 and will focus entirely on the current base.
