On September 12, hackers published some Cisco files on closed forums. This happened after the company refused to pay a ransom for the stolen data.

Cisco confirmed that the attackers were able to copy unclassified data that the hacked employee account had access to.

The hackers said they managed to download more than 55GB of company data, including several thousand files of partner documents with non-disclosure agreements, data dumps and technical drawings of network devices, before they were locked out.
