OpenAI has opened applications for access to the paid version of ChatGPT. In its official Discord channel, the company explained that it was "thinking about monetising ChatGPT as a way to ensure the tool's long-term viability," according to TechCrunch.

The paid version of ChatGPT will be called Professional. OpenAI has asked users to submit their ChatGPT subscriptions to indicate whether the price is too high or too low.

The company promises that the paid version of the chatbot will always be available for use and will generate at least twice as many responses per day as the free version. OpenAI plans to collect feedback on its performance through 15-minute calls.
