According to a Semafor report, OpenAI is hiring hundreds of international specialists to train its AI in software development.

It is reported that some of the specialists hired in the last 6 months from Latin America and Eastern Europe have been tasked with creating data to train AI on simple software development tasks.

40% of those hired are programmers who create data for OpenAI models to learn the software development process. The existing OpenAI Codex product, launched in August 2021, is precisely designed to translate natural language into code.

Semafor contacted an engineer from South America who was interviewing for one of OpenAI's positions. As part of the process, he was tasked with finding bugs in the AI code and explaining how to fix them. The engineer said he thought the company wanted to transfer this data to its AI technology.
