Puppy Linux project founder Barry Kauler has released an update to the experimental Linux distribution EasyOS 5.0. The system components run using container isolation technology, and the boot image is about 800 MB in size.

In Kirkstone's version EasyOS 5.0 almost all applications are rebuilt from source code using metadata from the OpenEmbedded 4.0 project. In the new version, the developer did away with the language builds of the operating system. Now the first time the system starts, it prompts you to choose a language and downloads the necessary package.
