Samsung Reevaluates Plans for Budget Version of Galaxy Z Fold, Opting for Limited Release This Year
Samsung is reconsidering its strategy for launching an affordable version of its flagship folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold, this year, according to a report from South Korean publication The Elec.
Initially, Samsung's lineup was expected to include a basic model of the Galaxy Z Fold6, which would complement the standard Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 models. However, according to sources, the South Korean tech giant may limit its releases to just these two models this year.
This decision could be driven by the lack of significant differences in features between the proposed devices and the current instability in the folding smartphone market.
The speculated budget version, potentially called the Fold6 FE, was envisioned to be thinner than the main model, allowing it to compete with Chinese gadgets. Despite this advantage, the Korean flagship would still be less competitive in this respect compared to its Chinese rivals.
Rumors suggest that the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 will take place on July 10 in Paris, where the company is also expected to fully introduce the Galaxy Ring smart ring.
