Security researcher and bug-hunter Sam Curry told that he received an unclear payment of $250 thousand from Google.
He tried, but unsuccessfully, for three weeks to find out through the company's tech support why this happened and how to return the money to the bug-hunter who it was really meant for.
In the end, Curry decided to do nothing with the money in the account and wait for Google's response, since he decided for himself that the company probably paid him by accident. A Google representative did get in touch with Curry, but only after the hacker society publicized the situation in the media.
