Swedish game production company Embracer Group has signed an agreement to acquire three studios from Japanese publisher and developer Square Enix.

Swedish game production company Embracer Group has signed an agreement to acquire three studios from Japanese publisher and developer Square Enix.

The agreement covers the transfer of ownership of Embracer to Eidos Montreal, Square Enix Montreal and Crystal Dynamics.

Together with the studios, the Swedish company receives the intellectual property of Square Enix, including the rights to titles Deus Ex, Thief, Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, and another 50 games.

Under the control of Embracer Group will go about 1.1 thousand employees of three companies and eight offices around the world. The cost of the deal is $ 300 million, which will be paid in full on the fact of its closure in July-September 2022
