Telegram Wallet Announces Service Provider Change, Urges User Data Update to Maintain Full Access

Telegram Wallet, the integrated cryptocurrency wallet service of The Open Network (TON), has announced a significant change in its service provider, slated to take effect from May 30, 2024. This change necessitates action from users to ensure continued access to the wallet’s full capabilities.

Starting June 3, 2024, WOT Global Solution Ltd will become the new service provider for Telegram Wallet. This changeover comes with a critical update requirement; users must refresh their personal data to maintain access to all wallet functions except for fund withdrawals.

This transition was announced through an official statement that highlighted the need for users to review and consent to a new "User Agreement." The agreement outlines that continued use of the wallet under the new service provider implies acceptance of the terms, including the sharing of personal data such as names, addresses, phone numbers, transaction details, and more with WOT Global Solution Ltd.

Telegram Wallet has made it clear that users have until June 3, 2024, to update their personal details on the platform. Failure to do so will result in restricted access, limiting users to only being able to withdraw funds from their accounts. This stipulation is part of the transition plan to ensure that user data seamlessly transfers to the new provider without compromising security or functionality.

Furthermore, the wallet team has emphasized the importance of timely action by stating, "If you have not deleted your wallet by May 20, 2024, we will consider this as your consent to the data transfer and continued use of the service by WOT Global Solution Ltd."

The integration of Telegram Wallet into the messaging app was first announced by the TON project team in November 2023.
