Tether surpasses VISA and Mastercard in transaction volume

Last year, Tether's transaction volume totaled $18.2 trillion, surpassing VISA and Mastercard, according to the issuer's official account.

Traditional payment systems had volumes of $14.1 trillion and $7.7 trillion respectively.
