They were found in the Geekbench 5 synthetic test database. Tests show that the computational performance in the single-core Geekbench 5 test of the Apple M2 chips compared to the Apple M1 is higher by up to 10%, and multi-core - up to 16%. Graphics performance got a bigger boost, up to 67%.

Overall, the Apple M2 is not much faster than its predecessor in single-threaded workloads. Nevertheless, Apple's new Avalanche cores are significantly faster in single-threaded workloads than the Intel Golden Cove cores used for the Alder Lake processors. As for multithreaded performance, the M2 is noticeably faster than the M1.
