The owner of the well-known game engine Unity and IronSource, which provides developers with tools to integrate advertising and cross-channel marketing, announced their plans to merge in July of this year. This came amid a 75% and 50% decline in the companies' stock, respectively, in the first six months of 2022.

The decision to merge was due not only to the economic downturn, but also to the launch of Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) in 2021, which in some ways limited advertisers' options.
