The stable release of Wine 8.0, an open implementation of the Win32 API, is out.

The new version completes the conversion of Wine modules to PE format, introduces Print Processor, effects support in Direct2D, new shader compiler for HLSL language in Direct3D, and improved support for game controllers.

Wine now fully runs 5266 Windows programs, and another 4370 programs run with optional settings and external DLLs.
