At the end of March, the Ubuntu Cinnamon distribution based on the Cinnamon user environment was granted official Ubuntu revision status.

Ubuntu Cinnamon lead developer Joshua Paysah said it was a credit to the entire community that helped the project, launched in 2019, develop into an official edition.

According to OpenNET, the Cinnamon userland is being developed by the Linux Mint distribution community and is a fork of the GNOME Shell, Nautilus file manager and Mutter window manager, aiming to provide a classic GNOME 2-style environment with support for the successful interaction elements from GNOME Shell.
