Xiaomi Set to Unveil First Open-Type Headphones at Upcoming Conference
Xiaomi, the renowned tech giant, is poised to diversify its product lineup with the launch of its first open-type headphones. The company has confirmed that these headphones will make their debut at a conference scheduled for April 10, where the spotlight will primarily shine on the Redmi Turbo 3. Also slated for unveiling at the event is the Redmi Pad Pro.
Details regarding the headphones are scarce, but a poster shared by Xiaomi on Weibo unveils the design of the headphones along with two color options. The casing corresponds to the color of the headphones and features an LED indicator on the middle frame.
Technical specifications of Xiaomi's first open-type headphones are currently shrouded in secrecy. It is anticipated that they will prioritize long-lasting autonomous operation and comfort, much like other competing products in the market.
Unlike traditional in-ear headphones, open-type headphones sit just outside the ear canal, leaving the ears uncovered. They primarily utilize either bone conduction or air conduction technologies for sound transmission. Xiaomi's upcoming headphones will incorporate air conduction technology. Orders are already being accepted in China.
Last year, the market for open-type headphones saw a sales figure of 6.52 million units, marking a staggering 130.2% increase compared to the previous year.
