Mozilla has released the latest major update to its Firefox browser with support for older versions of Windows and macOS. In the release notes, the developers say Windows 7 and Windows 8 as well as macOS 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14 are moving to the release version with extended support and they will receive security updates.

Updates to Firefox 115 include:

a redesigned interface for importing data from other browsers;

Hardware acceleration of video decoding on Linux systems with Intel GPUs;

opening the contents of the clipboard with a middle-click to open a new tab on Linux. It will show information from a link or a query to a search engine in the case of text;

the ability to use the plugin with OpenH264 codec support for OS users without built-in support for the H264 video codec;

CSS animation-composition property to use composite operations to apply multiple animations affecting the same property simultaneously;

Array.toReversed(), Array.toSorted(), Array.toSpliced(), Array.with() methods in Array.prototype and TypedArray.prototype. They return a new copy of the array after the changes have been made;

URL.canParse() method to parse and validate the URL;
